Section III: Competitive Analysis
In this section, we will examine two companies and products that The Ruckus Energy Bar will be competing against.
Company 1 – Kelloggs
Product: RXBAR
Company 1 – Kelloggs
Product: RXBAR
Kellogg’s was founded on February 19,1906 over 100 years ago. Kellogg’s specializes in cereal and convenience foods. Their products are manufactured in over 18 countries and marketed of 180 countries around the world. In 2017, Kellogg’s bought Rxbar, a company that specializes on protein bars. One of their most popular protein bars is the Chocolate Sea Salt, but they do make over 15 flavors of bars. All of Rxbars would be direct competitors for The Ruckus Bar.
Wrapping/Packaging
The ingredients of a Rxbar would depend upon the type of bar, but in general, the first four ingredients of a Rxbar would be egg whites, almonds, cashews, and dates. Other ingredients would be added upon the flavor of the bar. The Sea Salt Chocolate bar contains 200 calories. The number of calories depends on the type of bar. Each Rxbar retails for around $1.99 per bar and approximately $20 for a box of 12 bars.
The most unique thing about Rxbars is their clean-cut label and ingredients. Rxbars are made with a base of egg whites, fruits, and nuts. Each bar contains a significant amount of protein ranging from 10-12 grams per bar. Rxbars do not include any artificial colors, artificial flavors, preservatives or fillers in their protein bars.
Rxbars are sold in many grocery stores such as Trader Joe’s, Target, Walmart, Wegmans, Weis, and Giant. You can also find Rxbars in coffee shops such as Starbucks, and convenience stores such as Sheets.
